Scrut innovations: December 2025 snapshot

A lot of the friction in security programs doesn’t come from “big” projects, but from small stalls: someone waiting on an answer, a vendor stuck on a file, an asset list that lives in the wrong format, or a framework requirement that isn’t cleanly modeled in the system. These updates are specifically designed to address those areas of drag.
Here’s what we introduced in December:
- Clickable questions in Teammates Chat: Get context-aware guidance by clicking commonly asked compliance and product questions directly within Scrut.
- Vendor attachment re-uploads during review: Allow vendors to update or replace attachments during review without restarting the questionnaire.
- Flexible asset imports: Upload CSV or Excel files as-is and map asset data using a guided import wizard.
- Frameworks coverage: 21 CFR Part 11 support, updated FERPA mapping
- New integrations: Hexnode MDM integration, OpenProject integration, Jira integration enhancements
Get context-aware guidance with one-click follow-up questions in Teammates Chat

Typing long, detailed prompts every time you need help can slow you down and break the flow of a conversation when you are using Teammates Chat. Especially for non-experts, it is not always obvious what to ask next, even when Teammates has already given a helpful answer.
With the latest Teammates Chat update, follow-up questions (such as customizing a password policy or understanding framework requirements) appear as clickable buttons beneath each response, so users can continue the conversation without retyping and with clearer context.
With context-aware questions built directly into the product, teams spend less time searching for answers and more time moving compliance work forward. To see how Teammates Chat works in real workflows, book a demo.
Update questionnaire attachments without restarting reviews

During questionnaire reviews, it is common for reviewers to find that an attachment is outdated, incomplete, or missing supporting evidence. Earlier, fixing this meant rejecting the response or taking the conversation outside the platform, adding delays and breaking the review flow.
Vendors can now re-upload or replace attachments after submitting a questionnaire, as long as the question is still under review and the questionnaire hasn’t been marked complete. This covers instances where, during review, a reviewer requests additional documentation or believes the uploaded file is insufficient or outdated.
Automate vendor questionnaires end-to-end with Scrut. Send, collect responses, track progress, and keep evidence tied to each question in one place. If vendor risk is a priority this quarter, book a demo on how we can help you simplify third-party risk management.
Easily bring asset inventories into Scrut with flexible imports

Asset data rarely lives in a single, clean format. Teams often pull inventories from cloud providers, internal spreadsheets, or existing asset management tools, only to spend time reshaping files to match a fixed import template before they can upload anything.
Asset Management now supports flexible imports with no predefined templates. You can now:
- Upload files in any format: Import CSV or Excel files without restructuring them to fit a fixed template.
- Map fields using a guided wizard: Easily map your existing column names to Scrut fields, even if they do not match.
- Get started with minimal requirements: Only Resource ID and Resource Name are mandatory, and both can be mapped from any column in your file.
This removes manual cleanup work and makes it faster to onboard large or complex asset inventories from multiple sources.
Strengthen compliance coverage with new and updated frameworks
- 21 CFR Part 11: Supports FDA requirements for electronic records and electronic signatures, helping teams in regulated industries manage validation, audit trails, and record integrity within Scrut.
- FERPA (updated mapping): Refined control mappings and evidence guidance aligned with the latest DOE and SPPO updates, reducing noise and improving clarity for education-focused compliance programs.

Connect Scrut to more tools with new integrations and enhancements
- Hexnode (MDM): Pull mobile device management data from Hexnode into Scrut to improve asset visibility and coverage for device-related controls.
- OpenProject: Create and view OpenProject tickets directly from Scrut to track remediation and compliance work without switching tools.
- Jira (enhanced sync): Optionally sync attachments embedded in Jira descriptions and comments, including inline images, to preserve full context when linking tickets to Evidence Tasks.
