THE CONTEXT
When a fast-growing fintech needed to scale client trust without scaling headcount
AllCloud is a unified lending technology provider that helps banks, NBFCs, and fintechs automate loan origination, management, and collection at scale. Operating in one of the most heavily regulated industries meant that every client conversation inevitably led to the same roadblock: security questionnaires.
For AllCloud, these weren’t simple checkboxes. Clients would send RBI-grade questionnaires containing hundreds of questions during the due diligence process. The responses often went directly to regulators, which meant every answer had to be carefully reviewed and completely accurate from AllCloud’s end. The problem wasn’t just the volume. The same questions kept appearing in different formats, making it nearly impossible to reuse past answers without significant manual effort.
THE CHALLENGE
When security questionnaires became a growth bottleneck
- Questionnaire overload with no standardization: AllCloud received security questionnaires for every prospect and audit, ranging from 60 to 160 questions. Even in cases where the same questions often appeared in multiple questionnaires, they’d be phrased differently, making it impossible to simply copy and paste old answers. Every response required careful review to ensure accuracy.
- Dependency on technical acumen: It fell upon one person in the team to answer the technical security questions. The sales team understood the product, but not the compliance terminology, such as SOC 2, CIEM, or AD policies. This created a dependency on one person and slowed down the entire sales cycle.
- Stakes were too high to delegate: In a regulated industry where answers are submitted directly to entities like the RBI, there was zero room for error. Even well-meaning attempts by the sales team could create chaos if they answered “yes” to something AllCloud didn’t do, or “no” to something they did. Every response needed expert validation.
- Slow responses hurt deal velocity and client confidence: Taking 1-2 weeks to return a security questionnaire sends the wrong message to prospects. In competitive deals, speed signals competence. Delays made AllCloud appear unprepared, despite having all the necessary security controls in place.
THE SOLUTION
How Scrut Teammates automated compliance workflows and removed AllCloud’s biggest bottlenecks
SECURITY QUESTIONNAIRE AUTOMATION
From weeks of manual work to same-day turnarounds
Scrut Teammates became the game-changer for AllCloud’s questionnaire workflow. Instead of manually answering the lengthy questionnaires, the team could now upload a questionnaire, let Scrut Teammates populate responses based on AllCloud’s policy documents and compliance vault, and review the output in a fraction of the time.
The process was simple: upload the questionnaire document, wait for Scrut Teammates to fill in the responses, and review. Scrut Teammates didn’t guess the answers. It always pulled from AllCloud’s documented policies, linked to the exact sources it referenced, and left questions blank when it wasn’t confident in the answer. That transparency was critical. AllCloud knew precisely which responses needed input and which were ready to go.
What used to take a minimum of 3-4 days (often stretching to 1-2 weeks) now takes a single day, sometimes just hours. Every answer came with references to specific policy documents, allowing AllCloud to quickly validate responses without second-guessing. Just as importantly, Scrut Teammates removed the bottleneck of depending on one person. The sales team went from being completely blocked on security questions to confidently managing the process on their own.

TRUST MANAGEMENT
Empowering Sales to answer security questions live on client calls
Scrut Teammates’ AI chat feature helped get contextual information on AllCloud’s compliance posture. AllCloud’s sales team, which previously required Ashish (CTO) on every call with a technical buyer or CISO, could now handle those conversations independently.
For instance, during live client meetings, when a prospect asked about firewall policies, business continuity plans, or log management rules, they could simply open Scrut Teammates’ chat, ask the question, and get an answer in minutes, complete with links to the relevant policy documents. The confidence this gave them was priceless. They went from needing to ask for time to revert with the details after the call or requiring Ashish to join every call to address technical questions to being able to answer on the spot with proof.
For clients, seeing a salesperson answer detailed security questions in real time built immediate trust. It signaled that AllCloud took compliance seriously at every level of the organization, not just in the engineering team.

THIRD-PARTY RISK MANAGEMENT
Smarter, more relevant vendor assessments
AllCloud also leveraged Scrut’s vendor risk management module to streamline its own vendor assessments. Previously, they sent the same generic set of questions to all vendors, regardless of the criticality of the question. It was simple, but it wasn’t smart.
With Scrut Teammates, AllCloud can now create tailored questionnaires based on vendor type and risk level, ranging from Critical to High to Low. The system guided them through the process, and vendors appreciated receiving questions that were actually relevant to their role in AllCloud’s ecosystem.
This made the entire vendor onboarding and reassessment process more efficient, while ensuring AllCloud compliance with its own policies regarding third-party risk management.

THE IMPACT
How AllCloud turned compliance from a cost center into a sales accelerator with Scrut
With Scrut, AllCloud didn’t just solve a bottleneck; they turned compliance into a strategic advantage. Here’s what changed:
- Questionnaire response time dropped by 90%: What used to take 1-2 weeks now takes a maximum of 1 day. In many cases, questionnaires are completed on the same day they’re received, providing prospects with fast and confident answers that accelerate deal timelines.
- Compliance stays current without constant manual updates: As AllCloud’s compliance posture evolved, Scrut ensured that questionnaire responses automatically reflected the latest controls. Instead of worrying about giving outdated answers, the team had confidence that their responses aligned with current frameworks.
- Client trust increased measurably: Responding quickly to security questionnaires (and doing so accurately) sends a powerful signal to prospects. AllCloud is now able to demonstrate deep compliance maturity, even in live sales calls. Prospects now view AllCloud as a security-first solution, which is crucial in the regulated lending space.
- Continuous audit readiness: When AllCloud pursued SOC 2 certification, they initially felt anxious about compiling all the required documentation. Scrut’s centralized platform made it easy to organize policies, evidence, and controls in one place. What could have been a chaotic and stressful process turned into a smooth and predictable journey, giving AllCloud confidence that future audits would be just as manageable.
"With Scrut Teammates, we upload the questionnaire, get the answers, and review them in an hour. This has reduced the time spent on lengthy questionnaires from weeks to a single day, and the confidence we’ve gained with prospects has been immense."
